Welcome to We Book Club, founded by Ms Michele Xu together with seven members in April 2024, where a vibrant community of Chinese immigrants, entrepreneurs, and highly educated individuals come together to delve into the intricate tapestry of Canada’s economics, politics, and multiculturalism. With open minds and a deep curiosity, we explore the pages of literature as a lens to understand and navigate the diverse landscape of our adopted home. Each meeting is an enriching journey, where diverse perspectives converge, sparking insightful discussions and fostering a deeper appreciation for the rich complexities of the society we are living in. Michele Xu<\/strong>\/President<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michele Xu is an economist by training and holds both a law degree and a Master\u2019s degree. She previously served with the Government of Canada as an economist specializing in international affairs, with a particular focus on Canada\u2013China bilateral relations and regulatory policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drawing on more than two decades of real estate investment experience, Michele founded I-Property Group and currently serves clients across the Ottawa and Gatineau residential and commercial real estate markets as a real estate broker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of the founders of We Book Club and a newly elected member of its Board of Directors, Michele is committed to fostering intellectual engagement, community connection, and lifelong learning. She looks forward to continuing to serve the Club\u2019s members and contributing to the growth of a vibrant, informed, and engaged community.

Haiyan Wang<\/strong>\/Chief Administration Officer<\/p>\n\n\n\n


PhD, DipACLM
With 20 years of experience at Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Haiyan had served as a postdoctoral fellow, research scientist, health product reviewer, unit head, and division manager. Drawing on her strong foundation in science and public health, she translates emerging research into practical guidance that empowers healthier choices and supports long-term well-being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is now a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional dedicated to helping individuals improve their health through practical, evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a newly elected Board Director of We Book Club, Haiyan is excited to support a community that celebrates the joy of reading, lifelong learning, and meaningful connections among seniors and non-seniors.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A familiar face to many, Hanhong (Duke) has been an active member and passionate volunteer of our book club since day one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professionally, Duke devoted over 25 years serving as a genomics and molecular biologist for the Canadian federal government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his scientific career, he channels his creativity as a professional wedding\/portrait photographer, videographer, and film director. When he isn’t behind a lens, Duke loves diving into books\u2014especially Chinese history and classic literature.

2022\u5e7410\u670812\u65e5\uff0c\u610f\u5927\u5229\u5973\u5b87\u822a\u5458\u8428\u66fc\u5854\u00b7\u514b\u91cc\u65af\u6258\u798f\u96f7\u8482\u4e8e\u56fd\u9645\u7a7a\u95f4\u7ad9\u4ece\u8ddd\u79bb\u5730\u7403420\u516c\u91cc\u7684\u9ad8\u7a7a\uff0c\u4ee5\u6bcf\u5c0f\u65f628000\u516c\u91cc\u7684\u901f\u5ea6\u98de\u8d8a\u5317\u4eac\u5e02\u4e0a\u7a7a\u65f6\uff0c\u5728\u81ea\u5df1\u7684Twitter\u8d26\u53f7\u4e0a\u5f15\u7528\u4e86\u300a\u5170\u4ead\u5e8f\u300b\u4e2d\u7684\u201c\u4ef0\u89c2\u5b87\u5b99\u4e4b\u5927\uff0c\u4fef\u5bdf\u54c1\u7c7b\u4e4b\u76db\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u6e38\u76ee\u9a8b\u6000\uff0c\u8db3\u4ee5\u6781\u89c6\u542c\u4e4b\u5a31\uff0c\u4fe1\u53ef\u4e50\u4e5f\u201d\uff0c\u516c\u5143353\u5e74\u90a3\u573a\u4e3a\u4e86\u4fee\u798a\u5728\u4f1a\u7a3d\u90e1\u5c71\u9634\u53bf\u4e3e\u529e\u7684\u6587\u4eba\u805a\u4f1a\u5386\u5c3d\u5343\u5e74\u4f9d\u7136\u5728\u4eba\u7c7b\u6587\u660e\u7684\u4e0a\u7a7a\u6563\u53d1\u7740\u60a0\u8fdc\u7684\u5149\u8292\u3002\u4ece\u9b4f\u672b\u664b\u521d\u7684\u7af9\u6797\u4e03\u8d24\u5230\u5b55\u80b2\u8fd160\u540d\u8bfa\u8d1d\u5c14\u5956\u7684\u82f1\u56fd\u5251\u6865\u5927\u5b66\u7684\u4e0b\u5348\u8336\uff0c\u4ece\u73bb\u5c14\u4e0e\u6d77\u68ee\u5821\u521b\u7acb\u7684\u54e5\u672c\u54c8\u6839\u5b66\u6d3e\u5230\u79d1\u6280\u7fa4\u82f1\u835f\u8403\u7684\u52a0\u5229\u798f\u5c3c\u4e9a\u7845\u8c37\uff0c\u4eba\u7c7b\u5386\u53f2\u4e0a\u6bcf\u4e00\u6b21\u77e5\u8bc6\u7cbe\u82f1\u7684\u805a\u96c6\u65e0\u7591\u662f\u6587\u660e\u53d1\u5c55\u548c\u8fdb\u6b65\u7684\u798f\u7949\u30022024\u592e\u89c6\u6625\u665a\uff0c\u963f\u6765\u6d77\u6728\u5750\u5728\u94a2\u7434\u8fb9\u81ea\u5f39\u81ea\u5531\u7684\u90a3\u9996\u300a\u4e0d\u5982\u89c1\u4e00\u9762\u300b\u662f\u5728\u8fc7\u53bb\u7684\u4e00\u5e74\u91cc\u6700\u80fd\u5f15\u8d77\u5171\u9e23\u7684\u4e00\u9996\u6b4c\u66f2\uff0c\u79d1\u6280\u7684\u65e5\u65b0\u6708\u5f02\u548c\u793e\u4ea4\u8f6f\u4ef6\u7684\u8bde\u751f\u4f3c\u4e4e\u8ba9\u4eca\u5929\u7684\u4eba\u7c7b\u770b\u4e0a\u53bb\u66f4\u5b64\u72ec\uff0c\u90a3\u672b\u6211\u4eec\u4eca\u5929\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4ee5\u4e66\u4e3a\u540d\u7684\u7ed3\u793e\u4f3c\u4e4e\u6709\u70b9\u7075\u9b42\u62b1\u56e2\u53d6\u6696\u7684\u5473\u9053\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
